Hi all.

I believe most of you heard a lots about gmail. Although it pronounce like weird and funny geeeee-mail, but not to deny the services offered by google is awesome. Now lets talk about what you can grab from the Google Applications. One of them is the mail service that similar to gmail (instead, it is gmail). The awesome thing is, you can get for your domain name. Let say your domain name is www.myawesomeweb.com, so you can get the web based e-mail service from Google Applications. Maybe your name is Pakcik Hassan, so maybe it goes like this; pakcik.hassan@myawesomeweb.com. Wahhhhh!

Okay, right after you succesfuly setting up the email service offered by Google Applications, by default your your link (URL ) to the login page for the email goes something like this http://mail.google.com/a/myawesomeweb.com. For your information, you can rename the long URL into something goes like this, http://mail.myawesomeweb.com. How to do that? Simple. Just click on the E-mail Service link on your Google Applications Dashboard.

To get to your (Manage your domain) Dashboard, first you have to sign in at your login page or at the Google Apps Homepage. After then, click on the “Email” link, under the “Service settings”.

Once you click the “Change URL”, you will go the next page. It will look something like below image.

Check the second button to enable you the customize the subdomain name of your choice. “mail”, “mel”, “inbox” or whatever suit you. But the setup is not ended here. You will need to change the CNAME in your domain name control panel. You will be guided by Google along the process. But, i would like to remind you, these next steps while playing with CNAME, you should put an extra careful. It might harm your domain setting and follows of failure to redirect your URL to appropriate domain.

Ask your domain name service provider for help, if you isn’t sure what to do. Else, read the FAQs section provided by your service provider on how to access and change the CNAME.
